Student Defense Statement on Supreme Court Ruling Allowing Trump Administration to Proceed with Mass Layoffs at the Department of Education
Student Defense President Aaron Ament issued a statement today on the Supreme Court’s decision to allow mass layoffs to continue at the Department of Education:
“The Trump Administration’s attempt to eliminate the Department of Education without Congressional approval is in clear violation of the law. Although the Administration’s illegal plans might temporarily survive due to this procedural ruling in the McMahon vs. New York case, we’ll continue to argue the merits of our separate case, on behalf of the National Education Association, the NAACP, AFSCME Maryland Council 3, and public school parents.”
