Esmeralda Hermosillo

Paralegal

Before joining Student Defense, she worked as a paralegal at Relman Colfax PLLC, where she worked on matters related to fair lending, redlining, and other housing discrimination cases.

Esmeralda graduated from Georgetown University with B.A. in Government and a minor in Spanish. During her time in Georgetown, she was an intake volunteer for the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs. There, she was able to translate intakes regarding employment from Spanish-speaking workers seeking legal advice during the height of the pandemic. Esmeralda also worked for her university’s Social Justice Center as an English tutor for students of immigrant backgrounds in D.C. For two consecutive summers, Esmeralda interned for her congresswoman back in Detroit, MI. During Esmeralda's second summer in the office, she became a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute scholar, focusing on leadership development within the Latine community.
