Maya Weinstein

Maya Weinstein

Legal Fellow

Prior to joining Student Defense, Maya served as a law clerk to Justice Mark A. Davis on the Supreme Court of North Carolina. Maya received her J.D. with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she was an articles editor of the North Carolina Law Review and served as president of Student Bar Association. While in law school, Maya interned with the U.S. Department of Education Office of the General Counsel, the University of North Carolina System Office of Legal Affairs, and the Montgomery County Public Schools Office of the General Counsel in Rockville, Maryland.

Prior to law school, Maya was a legislative assistant at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, where her policy portfolio included gender-based violence and gun violence prevention. She was also a paralegal at a law firm that defends students in university disciplinary proceedings. She received her B.A. from the George Washington University. Maya is admitted to practice law in North Carolina.
